
Brent Edwards | Board Member
Chief, Snaw-Naw-As First Nation
Brent Edwards is the current Chief of the Snaw-naw-as First Nation. He served as a member of Council prior to this, as well as Chief for two years. He has been working in politics since 2007 when he became the Manager of the band office. Prior to that, Brent worked with Indigenous Northern Affairs in their capitol division and helped First Nations across the province develop their infrastructures. He also advised and facilitated treaty negotiations in his role with the B.C. Treaty Commission. He is a talented trumpet player and studied music at UBC, as well as geography at Malaspina College. A champion of nau’sa mawt – working together – Brent hopes to instill pride and respect in our youth by upholding traditional values and promoting self-determination.
